Best Vertical Flash Menus?

I'm looking for the best/most elegant and user-friendly vertical flash menus... (Flash, ActionScript...)
Have been looking at <www.frunder.com/products/f...m#fm3basic> but doesn't look like their new version is compat. with Dreamweaver 8 yet.

In looking around, I see a lot of dev-designed menus - horsey, funky, not created by designers. Does anyone have any links to some actually well-designed Flash menus? I need a modifyable drop-in solution, no time to learn to self-code...

Thanks,
nauga

Kinda new question

Hi all. This is question kinda piggy backs on an earlier topic in the tribe. A friend of mine's boss wants an animated gif to be created from one photo. I'm rusty at flash, so I went back and looked at what others had suggested for online tutorials. I bookmarked accordingly.

My plan is to do the tutorial from kirupa.com: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/cartoon.htm

to get me back into the groove, and then try to apply the same principles to the photo image that needs to be animated.

If I want to apply this technique to a photographic image, what do I need to know?

What they want is the guy's mouth in the photo to blow dust off an object.

If this is too over my head, I'm going to let her know right away. In the meantime, if anyone has ever worked on a job like this and has any tricks/suggestions to offer me, I'd be most thankful for your help.

As for payment you would have to be flexible, and we would prefer if it was on the back end. But if you have the right stuff we will do what we can to get you (close) to what you deserve.

All interested parties show contact Rey @ rzegri@hotmail.com or tribe me

Hello. Anyone know a good refresher tutorial or book?

Hi everybody.

My name is Anna and I just started an Actionscript class at (Sf) City College. I took two Flash classes about a year ago and but haven't had my own computer or Flash to practice on for about a year....I am excited to start again, but rusty and my class if for folks who really know Flash and I'm falling behind.

Does anyone know a good online tutorial to get me up to speed or a good book to get? (Maybe a book on the cheaper side as I am a bit short on funds?) I'm forgetting basic stuff like key frames, but I know that I was really into it and just need a refresher.

Thanks!!
list boxes..... style choices....... rollover effects???

hi - I'm really hoping someone here can give me some direction or push me over this part I'm stuck on.... cause I'm going nuts trying to figure this out!

I'm using Flash MX 2004, I want a list box (which I've already created) where I can roll the cursor over the different choices, causing a spot on the stage to change. and then also for it to link to another page when clicked on. but I really can't figure out how to really begin or where to/how to get those actions to happen.

So far I've only created the list...... I can't figure out how to change the styles within the box though.... I would like to change the highlight/rollover color, etc...

here is where I'm at for a visual reference

www.mamapotluck.com/Mamapotl...ndex1.htm

the blank boxes on the page are where the info will change as different buttons are selected, I would like to change the look of the scrolling list (actually not scrolling untill I add at least one more to the list) and also figure out how to have the info change in the box when different list items are first rolled over and then again when clicked.

I also think that I should create one layer for all the rollover options, putting them on different keyframes within the layer. but since I am not for sure on this I haven't started that yet. Would this be the way to do it or should they each be on their own layer?

thanks so much to who ever might be able to answer and help me!

Flash Intro and linking to css website

Hi all. I joined this tribe in order to be a little more Flash savvy. I hope that you can help me. I want to make a Flash intro to my css website, but I don't know how to link the intro to the index page of the website.

This may seem elementary to you, but I really don't know that much about Flash. My site was developed in Dreamweaver, and I'd rather not have the little flash icon on a page if I can get away with it.

My idea is to just have the Flash intro play and then go to the site.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Beth

Hello fellow Tribers!

I put together a few resources for web designers that I would like for all of you to take a look at (when time permits) and maybe offer a little feedback on some of the resources I currently provide.

You can view everything my company provides by visiting:
www.AMBITIONN.com

To view web design resources visit:
Website Templates ----- http://templates.ambitionn.com
Web hosting -------------www.duoservers.com/

Thanks.. Your input is very much appreciated!

I will openly admit that I dont know much about ActionScripting. In fact, I dont think I know anything about it. I have a little more than basic knowledge of Flash...but I like to make it look like I know more.

I just try to work with what I know, which is always a disadvantage, because many times I have to scale-down a layout plan, because I dont know how, and when I look up the codes...I just cant follow to save my life.

Im am one for learning, but I can only understand so much at a time.

I'm trying to create an animation that will make a star rise in the sky and then fade away and I'm just not clear on how to accomplish this.

I'm also having difficulty making my text morph into a star as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

flash authoring programs

i've been asked to design a website for a friend, who wants a nice, neat, little flash intro as per other sites he's seen. and i have no problem giving him that, since flash is way awesome, and deserving of my undivided attentions...

i just need a program. preferably downloadable. preferably not $400, either. i would love Flash 4, but i'm not that successful of a designer just yet, and it remains way beyond the price range of an upstart, mostly impoverished street performer like me.

any suggestions?

Tribe.net ads

The Gods at Tribe are trying the Ad thing
looky over there ------------------------------------------------------->

3 things we can do:

1st click on an ad. It's suppose to may them (Tribe) money. Click away. Make 12/23/04 National Click Day.
http://washington.tribe.net/event/81169230-2e3c-49d8-9a48-4d97572c385d?tribeid=399a2441-e442-4559-862e-f5574a454ff6&nextpage=http%3A%2F%2Fwashington.tribe.net%2Ftribe%2F399a2441-e442-4559-862e-f5574a454ff6%3Fr%3D10688&r=10688

2nd we should send them feedback. This is a community. A community by and for the community. Send them feedback. Post in the discussions. Add the discussion to your Blog. Mine is http://alittleredhairedgirl.blogspot.com/

Finally, and THIS is what we all should do...They will give US ad space! Let's create a 120x600 banner (gif/jpeg, 15k) to pomote our Tribe. We have to hurry the offer doesn't last long and I'm sure they getting flooded with requests.

Excellent way to show off Flash Ad making skills.

email me if you have ideas
littleredhairedgirl@gmail.com

I'm going to suggest this in my other Tribes too.
